Micah Khater is an Assistant Professor in the Department of African American Studies at the University of California-Berkeley.

In 2020-2021, Khater was a Center for Engaged Scholarship Fellow. Her research has also been funded by the Center for the Study of Race, Indigeneity, and Transnational Migration; the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition; and the Frances S. Summersell Center for the Study of the South, among others. Her work has been published in Southern Cultures and is forthcoming in Disability Studies Quarterly.
